President Nikos Christodoulides will open the Nicosia forum on 9 September, bringing together policymakers, international investors and business leaders to discuss the future of foreign direct investment in Cyprus.
The EY Cyprus Future Realized Forum 2026 will take place on 9 September 2026 at The Landmark Hotel in Nicosia, placing Cyprus’s investment appeal, competitiveness and long-term economic development at the centre of the discussion.
Held under the theme “Cyprus Future Realized: Bridge. Accelerate. Grow.”, the forum will explore how Cyprus can attract more high-quality foreign direct investment while responding to technological change, geopolitical uncertainty and growing competition between international business centres.
President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides will deliver the opening address, alongside Ronald Attard, Country Managing Partner of EY Cyprus and EY Malta.
Turning Investment Research into Action
A central part of the programme will be the presentation of the latest EY Cyprus Attractiveness Survey, which examines how international investors perceive Cyprus as a business and investment destination.
The survey is expected to identify the country’s competitive advantages, areas requiring further improvement and the factors influencing investment decisions across Cyprus and Europe.
Rather than focusing only on current perceptions, the forum aims to turn the survey’s findings into practical discussion about policy, reform and cooperation between the public and private sectors.
Key questions are expected to include how Cyprus can improve its international competitiveness, remove barriers to investment and strengthen its position as a gateway connecting Europe with the Middle East and other global markets.
Technology and Geopolitics Reshaping Investment
The forum’s first panel discussion will examine how Cyprus can redefine its foreign direct investment proposition in an era of rapid technological and geopolitical change.
Digital transformation, artificial intelligence, regional instability, energy security and changing international supply chains are increasingly shaping where businesses invest and establish operations.
Cyprus has several advantages within this evolving environment, including its EU membership, strategic location, professional-services sector, legal framework and established business connections with Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
However, maintaining its competitiveness will also depend on continued progress in areas such as digital infrastructure, public-sector efficiency, skills development, regulatory certainty and the speed at which investment projects can be implemented.
Technology will feature prominently in the discussions, with speakers including John Josephakis, Global Vice President for HPC, AI and Supercomputing at NVIDIA, and Constantinos Kattirdjis, Director and Enterprise Partner Lead at Microsoft.
International and Cypriot Leaders to Participate
The event will feature senior figures from politics, economics, technology and business.
Former Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende will offer a European perspective on competitiveness and sustainable development, while geopolitical analyst and former Portuguese Secretary of State for European Affairs Bruno Maçães will deliver a keynote speech.
Other confirmed speakers include:
- Michael Damianos, Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry
- Marios Tannousis, CEO of Invest Cyprus
- Ronald Attard, Country Managing Partner of EY Cyprus and EY Malta
- Stelios Demetriou, Strategy and Transactions Services Leader at EY Cyprus
- George Tziortzis, Consulting Services Leader at EY Cyprus
- Andreas Anastasiou, Partner in Strategy and Transactions Services at EY Cyprus
The programme will include two main panel discussions. The first will consider Cyprus’s investment competitiveness amid technological and geopolitical developments. The second will assess the country’s current appeal based on the findings of the EY Attractiveness Survey.
Strengthening Cyprus’s Investment Position
The forum comes at an important time for Cyprus as the country seeks to attract investment in technology, energy, financial services, shipping, real estate, education, healthcare and other high-value sectors.
Its ability to attract international companies will depend not only on tax and operating costs, but also on the quality of its institutions, workforce, infrastructure, regulatory environment and access to regional markets.
The event will provide a platform for government officials, investors, financial institutions, senior executives, industry associations and policy experts to discuss the reforms and strategic initiatives required to support sustainable economic growth.
Previous editions attracted more than 600 participants, demonstrating the growing interest in Cyprus’s role within the regional and European investment landscape.
